ASRock B550 Rock WiFi Motherboard Debuts as Budget Friendly AM4 Upgrade Path with Wi Fi 6E and 10 Phase Power Delivery
ASRock has announced the launch of the B550 Rock WiFi motherboard designed for the previous generation AM4 socket. According to the official ASRock product announcement this hardware release provides an upgrade path for users on older Ryzen systems who wish to modernize their gaming PCs without incurring the high costs associated with switching to an entirely new platform. The motherboard supports all processors in the Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 4000G, Ryzen 5000, and Ryzen 5000G series, alongside select models from the Ryzen 3000G lineup.
The Motherboard features 10 phase power delivery design (8+2) to stabilize the system under heavy processing loads. The aluminum heatsinks covering the chipset and the area around Voltage Regulator Module provide effective cooling to facilitate lower operating temperatures under prolonged gaming / productivity session.
4 DIMM slots up to 128GB of dual channel DDR4 4733. For fast speed storage the motherboard has 3 M.2 slots a solid state drive controller. The first PCIe speed is 4 x 4, the second PCIe speed is 3 x 4 and the third is 3 x 2. The SATA included with the motherboard include 3 ports designed for data transfers at 6 gbs.
The network is supported through a Realtek 2.5 Gbps ethernet controller, offering fast wired internet connections. 2.5 Gbps Ethernet speeds are doubled to 5 Gbps through option have a built in Wi Fi 6E adapter, along with a Bluetooth 5.3 interface for wireless usage. The boards physical I/O interface include a front I/O panel USB 3.2 Gen1 Type C header, a rear USB Type C port, along with a plethora of rear USB Type A ports.
The boards display output support also includes 1 port capable of HDMI 2.1 through a Ryzen processor using its included on board graphics.
