The handheld will come with a 7.4 inch Nebula HDR OLED display which represents a major display upgrade for the Ally series. The display will also boast a 120Hz refresh rate, be compatible with FreeSync Premium Pro, and will feature 1400 nits peak brightness. Its VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified display will also come with Dolby Vision support and a response time of 0.2ms. The screen will have Corning DXC glass with an anti reflective coating on the front to combat glare and keep it at 65%. As an OLED display, they are also susceptible to heat so the internal thermals have been redesigned and can redirect more air flow directly to the processor to prevent high surface temps on the screen.

The devices controls will see a number of changes. The handheld has a converting direction pad that switches between the standard 4 way setup and an 8 way one which will be a great help in fighting games. Physical face buttons will now be flush with the device for better thumb movement and will have a rubberized texture over the back grips. The devices controller will now also include new TMR stick technology, this will prevent stick drift and also provide better tracking accuracy than existing hall effect sensor stick setups.

Under the hood the system will be powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. This will be backed by 24GB of LPDDR5X ram and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid state drive which should allow it to run some of the modern games. Auto SR preview, which was previously only available to Copilot plus Personal Computer operating on the Windows 11 operating system, will now be a feature available on the portable gaming device. Auto SR can upscale lower resolution rendering efficiently, which will make it easy to dock the device and still enjoy higher frame rates.

The ultimate package comes with a set of ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses. The portable display technology will project a virtual 171 inch display at a 4m distance using micro OLED technology. This portable display will run at 240Hz with an almost instant 0.01ms response time and 95% field of view, and with 3DoF tracking the virtual display will be synced with the device’s head movements. There is also a fixed perspective known as Anchor mode. This display works with just a single type C connection from the handheld and is made to connect with.
