AYN Announces Thor and Odin 3 Price Increases and Storage Downgrades Across Global Retail Distribution Channels
AYN, a manufacturer of Handheld, has announced a planned price increase for their flagship Android gaming devices, the Thor and Odin 3. According to official distribution channels AYN, these price adjustments would represent the fourth increase for the Thor and the second for the Odin 3 since they initially launched. Price increases will go into effect once the current retail stock is sold through.
The decision to implement the new prices is reportedly due to increased costs in the RAM and flash storage markets. AYN has adjusted prices more often than their market competitors; earlier this year, the company increased their prices from anywhere between $10 $40 on their various models. Soon after that adjustment AYN altered their hardware in the high end Thor Max model, replacing the faster UFS 4.0 storage in favor of the cheaper UFS 3.1 version while increasing the price.
The manufacturer is currently accepting pre orders for the 7th and 8th batch of the Thor and Odin 3 respectively, and their devices should be shipping out to consumers in the late summer. Customers who order the device within these two batches will still be given a storage specification that downgrades to UFS 3.1 from UFS 4.0, meaning consumers will be paying more for a lesser storage product.

The Odin 3 Ultra is currently out of stock for the time being, and AYN has not announced the precise percentage for their forthcoming price increase yet. The company has stated the increase will be global across all retail channels once current inventory is sold out.
