Huawei HarmonyOS 7 Launches With Redesigned 3D Spatial Interface System Level AI Features And Advanced Security Enhancements
The newest version of Huawei's operating system, HarmonyOS 7 has been officially released at a hardware launch in China. It has a completely redesigned interface, system level AI features, and structural changes to the underneath code. The visual depth, and how it connects all devices on an interface level are highlighted.
This visual design overhaul is seen most distinctly in the addition of a spatial design engine which uses on device graphics hardware. It allows the interface (lock screen and regular menus) to have a 3D depth effect which turns static images into dynamic, responsive scenes which react to the users movement, buttons have new lighting effects and animations and sliders are responsive to user touch.
This version also emphasizes the AI capabilities within the software. Celia has been reimagined as a standalone, system level agent that responds to complex natural language requests and performs multiple commands across applications with minimal user interaction. This feature is enabled by the new Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0, which according to Huawei can achieve 90+% success rate and is approximately 15% faster than its predecessor. This improvement also affects general system performance for demanding tasks such as gaming and video streaming.
Security features in HarmonyOS 7 are designed to help users defend themselves from todays most prevalent online threats, as the new operating system will incorporate on device tools to detect malicious links disguised in quick response codes, untrustworthy websites, harmful apps and synthetic voice information in user generated content. In the system architecture, HarmonyOS 7 is able to perform down to IoT accessories with very low power usage by being able to operate at such low memory levels while keeping devices online for up to a year at a time.
The developer beta version of the operating system is already available for a limited number of users and devices including the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, the Mate X7, the Mate XT Master, the Pura 90 Pro Max, the Pura X, the Pura X Collectors Edition and the nova 15 Pro. The HarmonyOS 7 system will ship out with the upcoming Mate 90 series flagship phones launching later this year.
