Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 Tablet Launched With Nine Speaker JBL Audio System High Resolution Display and Android 16

Lenovo has added a new tablet to their range, which is the Tab Plus Gen 2. It is positioned to the media consumer. According to the product specs provided by Lenovo, the defining feature of this tablet is the in built speaker system built in collaboration with JBL. The device produces the sounds with a high output volume directly from the chassis of the tablet, targeting users who dont wish to attach an external speaker for entertainment.

The sound hardware included in the Tab Plus Gen 2 is actually a system of 9 distinct JBL speakers working in unison producing a combined 48W of audio. The hybrid speaker array is made up of 4 tweeters (high frequency), 3 woofers (low frequency), and 2 passive radiators (enhances bass) producing its combined audio. As can be inferred, to fit this massive array of speakers in, Lenovo designed the back of the Tab Plus Gen 2 to house all of these speakers in a custom design along with an adjustable aluminum kickstand to stand the tablet up vertically on surfaces when media is playing.

Visually its pretty appealing, featuring a 12.1 inch screen running at 2560x1600 WQXGA resolution and supporting 120Hz refresh rates for smoothness in animations and when watching videos. Driving the whole system is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset paired with 8 GB RAM. Users can get this in either 128GB or 256GB of internal flash storage and theres a single 13 megapixel camera on the back.

With the sound system using up a lot of power, Lenovo has put in a substantial 10200 mAh battery, and the tablet supports up to 45W fast charging to ensure the user spends as little time as possible on downtime. This tablet runs on Android 16 and features 2 individual USB C ports, a unique approach to connectivity for a device of its kind. To complement the media functions there are also optional accessories such as the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus and the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 Sleeve Suite.

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is only available in a white finish, and the prices will be $495 and $560 for the 8 GB RAM, 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants respectively, suggesting that this tablet will be a specialized peripheral rather than an everyday utility for its users.
