Ubisoft brings Far Cry series to television with Lizzy Caplan and Rob McElhenney for an anthology show directed by Noah Hawley
Ubisoft will bring the series to television, as well, and have already begun expansion into other medias, with a television adaption of the Far Cry series. Trades have confirmed that actress Lizzy Caplan has joined the cast of this new project. The 43 years old actress, known for her work in Mean Girls, Cloverfield, 127 hours, and two of the four Now You See Me films, is slated to feature as a major lead role. The specifics of her part remain under wraps, but reports have stated that she will take the primary lead in the opening season.
Plans for the adaptation are for an anthology show each season of which will tell an individual story in the universe of the Far Cry shooters. Rob McElhenney, a writer and actor known for work on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is attached as a lead role and co author of the series. Fargo and Alien Earth creator Noah Hawley will serve as director. Hawley has previously announced he intends to tell a new story not hard copying the game plots.

This is a collaborative work from Ubisoft to bring its biggest properties into fine television while being led by successful industry showrunners.
