RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro Announcement Reveals Advanced Active Water Cooling Technology and High Performance Hardware Specs
RedMagic has announced a new high end gaming tablet for their lineup, called the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. In a weibo post from the official RedMagic team accounts, a new cooling feature. Reservations have been opened for the upcoming release on several eletronic commerce sites in the Asian region, ahead of a soon to be announced sell date.
The active water cooling flow path is a signature feature of the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. On the back side of the tablet, there are dedicated RGB illuminited liquid cooling strip to dissipate heat from the CPU. This visual style is similar to the last gen RedMagic Astra tablet, but this time the thermal hardware is exposed and more advanced in design. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Unlike the companion phone series from the same brand, this tablet utilizes the standard version of the silicon rather than the leading version. However, the presence of active fan and liquid cooling is expected to allow the processor to run at sustained maximum clock speeds, offering a distinct performance profile compared to passively cooled competitors.
According to industry reports, the device will come equipped with a 9 inch OLED display capable of blazing fast 185Hz refresh rate. This display spec will be a key competitive differentiator in comparison to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 which will sport an LCD display. The contrast ratios and response times of the OLED technology are said to deliver a crisper picture for high paced titles in electronic sports.
Hardware internal specification are believed to scale up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB solid state storage to support the large amounts of modern game data. Power is provided by an 8300mAh battery which is around the same size as previous generation devices. The manufacturer has yet to confirm all these internal specifications, though the active cooling and high quality display technology make the device suitable for the high end of the gaming hardware market.
