RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro Astra 2 Features 185Hz OLED Display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor with Liquid Cooling for High Performance Portable Gaming
Nubia has launched the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro as the direct successor to the previous Astra model. The device focuses on bringing high level processing power to a compact mobile form factor. According to the official RedMagic product specifications the hardware is engineered to maintain peak processing speeds during extended use through an integrated liquid cooling system. This cooling mechanism is highlighted on the rear of the device using a transparent chassis cover and customizable RGB lighting accents.
The device features a built in liquid cooling solution prominently located on the back under a transparent case design. This cooling apparatus is further enhanced with RGB customizable lighting accents to maintain performance during demanding computational work. This design ensures the internal components stay cool while executing demanding applications.
In terms of display hardware, the device boasts a 9.06 inch OLED screen capable of displaying the action on its 185 Hz refresh rate display. It features a full screen brightness of up to 1,100 nits with a peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits. Internally the tablet runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, using its cooling systems to prevent thermal throttling.
Software wise the tablet includes PC mode compatibility and a PC emulator that manages game support for the Steam Gaming Platform. Nubia cautions that compatibility may vary and recommends the use of a game specific game pad. Its power comes from a massive 8,300 mAh battery with up to 80 watts fast charging support through two individual USB C ports. Also included is a physical Red key button on the side for activating gaming mode and a power button with a built in fingerprint sensor.
The Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is now available to purchase in China with various models and hardware configurations. Pricing follows these specifications:
