Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog Detail Rebuilding Peru in Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis With Authentic Incan Architecture and Environmental Storytelling

A recently released a behind the scenes production has revealed the developers from Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog detailed plans to rebuild the legendary Peru locations in the upcoming Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis. The design teams explained that things are not simply a graphical enhancement, but rather a total reinterpretation of the game by providing players with wide open sceneries to enjoy all while utilizing the actual Inca history and architecture.

The adventure starts high in the Andes, leading players through some intriguing locations including the mountain caves, the city of Vilcabamba, the Lost Valley and, ultimately, Qualopec's tomb. To make the setting more realistic the design team researched Incan architecture, so players will see an ancient door way in the game follows a trapezoid shape and walls are inclined at an angle of 5 to 10 degrees. This was done for historical reasons: making buildings more modern to withstand earthquakes. Another aspect of the game related to the Inca was the use of Kipus; the language of knotted strings, which was used for the puzzle mechanics.

The environment can also be used as a means of narrating a story. For instance, in the level of Vilcabamba, developers included the history of the Spanish "American (conquista)" within the level design. Players will see the active traps set by the soldiers, the remains of the battlegrounds, and the roosts of bastions built by the invincible Inca people as they explore the tunnels. Visual design also depends largely on thick greenery and flora to invoke the particular visual nostalgic memories elicited by the original release of the game in 1996.

Lara Croft is back in these ruins wielding her classic dual pistols, but the team added a new environmental tool so gamers can analyze their environment. The exploration was quite similar to the last game because of the numerous impossibly appearing dinosaurs in the hidden valley, but as we explored deeper into the tomb of Qualopec, we encountered more unbelievable, ourelementalarchitectural design. The team was eager to discover how longtime fans will respond to all the machined and visual enhancements.

There will be a number of platforms for the game to be played. The game will be able to be played on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and nintendo switch 2. The preorders are now open on the official channels' websites.
