Microsoft Xbox Game Pass June Updates Feature New Games Like Persona 5 Royal Undisputed and Day One Releases Alongside Major Title Departures
Microsoft has confirmed the initial round of software updates to their Game Pass subscription service. Following the schedule published in an official Xbox Wire release, the updates go live at an opportune moment, just ahead of the coming Xbox Games Showcase and exclusive Gears of War E Day Direct. With a selection of indie day one releases, role playing titles, and specialist sports demos, updates will arrive across cloud, console, and PC.
The first drop comes in on June 4, as Herdling is added to Cloud, Xbox Series X S, and PC on the Ultimate and PC (and Premium) tiers. In this atmospheric exploration, players help a herd of beasts navigate the slopes of a mountain pass. Total Chaos, a survival horror first person game which tasks the player with resource management and building makeshift weapons from available components, arrives the same day. Come June 8, a floating island survival game titled Solarpunk lands as a day one release on Ultimate and PC for solo and cooperative building, or on the go from the cloud.
Also entering on June 8, Undisputed is a boxing simulation which will appeal to those in love with the sport of pugilism, with realistic ring dynamics and a variety of licensed boxers on the playable roster; this release includes Cloud, handheld, Xbox Series X S and PC on all relevant Game Pass tiers. It is the turn of the stylish JRPG Persona 5 Royal on June 9 to grace Game Pass on all three platforms; traverse through the city of Tokyo as you tailor a team to traverse dungeons, engage in strategic battles, and meet a cast of memorable characters. The wave continues June 11 with Beastro, a relaxing life simulator and deck builder, as well as the physics based cooperative extraction game Frog Sqwad, where 1 to 8 players will collaborate to find and extract supplies across online multiplayer.
The Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions space exploration game comes to Game Preview for all Cloud, console and PC members on June 11, as a collaboration with members toward the common goal of planetary planetary objectives. Coming in for day one launch June 16 is Junkster, an action platformer tasking players to pilot a construction robot to search through a junkyard planet to uncover cargo. This collection of new additions follows a significant wave in late May including PC launch for Batman Arkham Knight on May 16 and a new day one title May 28, Escape the Backrooms, a cooperative creepypasta horror with voice chat available for up to 4 players.
Current Game Pass subscribers are additionally able to access a selection of limited trials and in game perks. Beginning June 12, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are offered a 10 hour early access trial of EA Sports UFC 6; any progress earned throughout the timed experience can be transferred into the full version of the game with a 10 percent purchase discount. An update to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege sees the Blitz Bushido Set become available immediately, granting exclusive cosmetics in the form of shield skins, headgear, and charms, for the character Blitz.
On the flip side, four well liked games are leaving the library come June 15, requiring members that would like to continue playing the titles to acquire them through a purchase prior to that date to take advantage of their active membership purchase discount. The titles departing Game Pass on that day are:
- Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Lost in Random The Eternal Die
- Scott Pilgrim vs The World
- Warhammer 40K Space Marine Master Crafted Edition
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge
All the titles above will be available for purchase across cloud, console, and PC at their respective store pages.
