A leaked Apple roadmap reveals the upcoming launch schedule for several Mac models through early 2028. According to industry sources cited by Bloomberg, the plans cover a range of laptops and desktops running next generation silicon. But supply constraints could still alter some of these release windows.
Before the end of 2026, Apple plans to introduce a base MacBook Pro running the M6 processor along with updated iMac desktops. The release schedule also includes laptops featuring M5 Pro and M5 Max chips paired with touch OLED screens in 14 inch and 16 inch sizes. Testing is already underway for premium MacBook models running macOS 27.1, with these high performance laptops scheduled to arrive just before the new year.
Early 2027 will bring an update to the MacBook Air lineup. During this same period, Apple expects to debut an entry level MacBook Pro with an M7 chip. There are also rumors of a new MacBook Neo model that runs on an A19 Pro processor with 12 GB of RAM. This would mark a new tier in the laptop family.
Desktop users are waiting on updates for the Mac mini and Mac Studio. Testing is underway. Apple is currently evaluating a Mac mini running the M5 Pro alongside Mac Studio models equipped with M5 Max and M5 Ultra silicon. However, memory chip supply issues have created some uncertainty around the exact release dates and final hardware configurations.
The transition to OLED displays will expand further in early 2028. Apple intends to release an OLED MacBook Air before updating the iMac with the same screen technology. As is standard practice, Apple has declined to comment on these leaked internal plans.
