ASUS ROG GR801 AMD Co Branded Edition Computer Case Debuts With Integrated Panoramic Display And Extensive Hardware Support

ASUS announced an addition to its game ready premium hardware offerings with the unveiling of the ROG GR801 AMD Co Branded Edition. The new innovating ultra panoramic computer case was built in conjunction with AMD to mark the 20 years of the Republic of Gamers brand. As noted by the official ASUS product launch statement, the new fully integrated chassis combines a high level of hardware adaptability with a prominent display system built into the structure itself.

The centerpiece of the new chassis is an integral 9.2 inch Ips monitor built into the exterior panel. The display has a resolution of 1920x420 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a peak luminance of 400 nits. With the partnership enabled ASUS software, system builders can leverage the display to monitor real time system analysis metrics including component heat levels, fan RPMs, network bandwidth availability, and overall system health. Custom artwork can also be displayed from a static desktop image to animated motion graphics.

Space within the case is arranged for large heat intensive builds. The main interior cavity is physically capable of supporting up to 14, 120 mm case fans and up to 2, 360 mm radiator installations. Graphics cards can be installed up to 400 mm in length and air coolers up to 180 mm high. The power supply compatibility is with both standard ATX sizes 180 mm deep. The internal mounting tray can hold Mini ITX, Micro ATX, ATX, or E ATX motherboards including ASUS proprietary back connect mainboard arrangements that direct all cabling behind the tray.

Storage options are enabled with modular configuration support for mounting either 2 2.5 in solid state disks and 1 3.5 in traditional HDD or mounting of up to 4 2.5 in solid state disks. The front panel accessibility to external peripherals includes 4 3.2 Gen1 Type A USB ports, 2 3.2 Gen2x2 Type C ports, and 1 3.2 in combo audio input output. To enhance the system setup process, ASUS also built in a spinner style side mounted grill with no tool retention clips to secure prominent graphics cards.

The ROG GR801 AMD Co Branded Edition has been released as a regional exclusive and comes to market through the Chinese region only. The launch retail price is $293. No official ASUS information has yet been provided on a global release schedule or pricing information.
