BYD Denza Z9S Luxury Electric Sedan Features 920 Kilometer Range

BYD has officially unveiled the Denza Z9S, a premium electric fastback sedan aimed at the luxury sports car market. The sleek vehicle offers single motor options with up to 920 kilometers of range alongside a highly advanced AI cockpit. However, pricing details and a definitive global release schedule remain under wraps for now.

This fastback sedan measures 5090 millimeters long, 1980 millimeters wide, and 1490 millimeters tall, riding on a 3025 millimeter wheelbase. This makes the sedan slightly more compact than its wagon sibling, the Z9 GT. Buyers can choose a base version equipped with 1 electric motor putting out either 429 or 496 horsepower. A 102.3 kilowatt hour battery pack powers these models, which represents one of the largest capacities in any current production sedan.

For drivers seeking high end performance, reports point to an upcoming extreme edition. This variant will pack 3 electric motors to generate a combined output of approximately 1200 horsepower. Inside, the cabin introduces the new AI Intelligent Cockpit system. BYD states the system uses artificial intelligence to interpret driver intent rather than simply executing basic voice commands.

The reveal of the Z9S follows closely on the heels of the Denza Z electric supercar, which recently made its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Preorders for that performance model surpassed 1000 units within days. BYD hopes to replicate this rapid market interest with the Z9S as it positions the brand against established luxury electric vehicles.
