GMK is pushing the boundaries of compact desktop computers. The company just launched its EVO X1 Pro mini PC in China, claiming to offer desktop grade AI supercomputing in a tiny frame. According to retail listings on major Chinese storefronts, this premium machine carries a price tag of 9699 Yuan about 1432.90 USD.
Under the hood sits the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor. This chip is built using a TSMC 4nm process and Gorgon Point architecture. It splits the workload across 4 Zen 5 cores and 8 Zen 5c cores to deliver 12 cores and 24 threads of computing power. The Zen 5 cores run at speeds up to 5.2GHz, while the high efficiency cores top out at 3.3GHz. This configuration delivers serious power. Performance is high. To keep heavy applications running smoothly, the chip includes 12MB of L2 cache and 24MB of L3 cache.
Graphics are handled by the integrated Radeon 890M GPU, which features 16 compute units running at 3100MHz on RDNA 3.5 architecture. It handles gaming and media tasks without needing a dedicated graphics card. But the real focus of this machine is local AI. The dedicated XDNA2 NPU provides 55 TOPS of AI power. When you combine the CPU, GPU, and NPU, the system output climbs to 86 TOPS. AI tasks run locally. This allows you to run complex local AI workloads and large language models right on your desk.
Running out of memory will not be an issue. The machine comes with 64GB of LPDDR5 6400 RAM factory loaded. Storage is handled by a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. If you need more space, the quick release design lets you swap drives easily, supporting up to 16TB of total storage. To keep all this hardware cool, GMK built a cooling system using dual fans and a vapor chamber. It stays cool. This design prevents thermal throttling when running demanding applications.
Physical ports are plentiful. You get a USB4 port and an OCuLink connection, meaning you can plug in a high performance external graphics card if you want more power. There is also 1 DP port and 1 HDMI port, allowing you to run 3 screens at 8K resolution simultaneously. This is great for video editing or massive multi monitor workstations. Other connections include 4 USB 3.0 Type A ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For networking, you can use high speed Wi Fi 7 or the dual 2.5G ethernet ports.
