GPD Win Max 3 Handheld Specs Leak Revealing AMD Ryzen AI Max APU and AMOLED Display

GPD Win Max 3 Portable Handheld Specifications Surface Featuring AMD Ryzen AI Max Strix Halo APUs and High Performance AMOLED Display Technology

Initial specifications on the next generation GPD Win Max 3 portable handheld have surfaced, indicating that the device will boast a leap forward in handheld computational capacity. As originally reported on Bilibili by MuBuS and then expanded upon by Droix, the Win Max 3 is reported to be utilizing top of the line silicon from AMD. Storefront individual creators have shown confidence in these initial benchmarks, but standard precautions apply.

The main upgrade for the Win Max 3 is in the CPU department. The device is said to feature the Ryzen AI Max Plus 388 and the Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 APUs, which are both leading pairs of the AMD Strix Halo high performance CPU lineups. This represents a massive architectural jump from the original Win Max 2 released four years ago with a Ryzen 7 6800U, and even the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 released later in 2024.

According to rumors, GPD is providing the reported device with the capability of up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X 8000 RAM to meet the performance requirements of the architecture. Storage appears to be more than enough with three dedicated expansion ports consisting of an M.2 2230, an M.2 2280, and a Mini SSD 1517.

The physical dimensions of the device in its standard form factor are 207 x 147 x 34mm. These can be increased to 207 x 180 x 34mm when fitted with the high capacity 97 Wh battery attachment or when an optional external cooling module is mounted to the chassis to control heat dissipation during high workload periods.

Meanwhile, the screen is undergoing its own transformation to encompass a large 9.06 inch AMOLED display. It is reported to have a fantastic resolution of 2400 by 1504 pixels and a speedy 165 Hz refresh rate. Commentators have remarked that this screen has the same specifications as hardware used in recent high end tablets dedicated to mobile gaming.

GPD only alluded to this hardware advancement for a short period of time in October 2025. The official price, definite availability, and release plans have not been announced. However, the inclusion of Strix Halo processors suggests that the Win Max 3 will be aimed at the high end portable gaming niche when it finally reaches the marketplace.
