Lenovo is trying to solve battery anxiety once and for all. The company just revealed an updated version of its Xiaoxin Air 14 in China. The headline specification is staggering. Lenovo claims this thin machine can run for up to 34 hours on a single charge. That is a massive leap. Especially since the previously launched OLED version of this exact laptop only managed 19 hours of runtime.
How did Lenovo manage this without making the laptop thicker They kept the exact same 65 Wh battery but swapped out the power hungry OLED screen for a highly efficient LCD panel. This new 14 inch screen has a resolution of 2560x1600 and runs at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It peaks at 400 nits of brightness and has an anti glare coating to help with outdoor visibility. The trade off is that you lose HDR support, but for 15 extra hours of battery life, most office workers will gladly make that deal.
The chassis remains highly portable. The laptop has a slim metal body that is just 12.9 millimeters thick and weighs only 1.14 kilograms. Carrying this around in a backpack all day will not strain your shoulders. It is a sleek package that is clearly designed for students and business travelers who need to work on the move without constantly hunting for wall outlets.
Under the hood, the internals are built on Intel Core Ultra 200V processors. Buyers can choose between the Core Ultra 5 226V and the Core Ultra 7 256V depending on how much computational power they need. Memory is locked at 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Because the RAM is soldered directly onto the motherboard, you cannot upgrade it down the road. Thankfully, you can easily swap out the SSD yourself if you run out of storage space.
Lenovo has already launched the device in China. The entry model featuring the Core Ultra 5 226V processor and a 512GB SSD is priced at 6299 yuan, which converts to roughly 929 US dollars. If past release patterns hold, global customers will likely see this machine arrive on store shelves soon under the IdeaPad Slim brand. We will keep you updated as soon as international pricing and availability details are confirmed.
