A thin and lightweight laptop has arrived from LG. The updated Gram 16 features Intel Core Ultra processors, MIL STD 810H protection and up to 23.5 hours of battery life. The new models are currently available in China starting at US$1130.
The updated lineup offers 2 hardware configurations. The entry model pairs an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V chip with Arc 130V graphics, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of solid state storage. Users wanting more power can choose the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V version, which packs Arc 140V graphics and 32GB of RAM. Both models feature a 16 inch IPS screen running at 2560x1600 resolution and covering 99% of the P3 color space.
Portability remains the main focus for this series. The metal chassis measures just 15.7 mm thick and weighs 1239 grams. Despite the slim profile, the laptop houses a 77 Wh battery that supports up to 23.5 hours of unplugged use according to company testing. For physical connections, the sides house 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an audio jack and a microSD card reader.
LG has positioned these notebooks to compete directly in the premium portable space. The Core Ultra 5 version is priced at US$1130 in the Chinese market. Moving up to the Core Ultra 7 model will cost buyers US$1402. Global release details are yet to be announced.
