Nvidia has released the GeForce 610.88 WHQL driver update. The software package introduces launch day support for the Gears of War E Day beta alongside important performance fixes for Path of Exile 2. However, some early testers are reporting system crashes in other high profile titles.
This package weighs approximately 934.3 megabytes and supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. It acts as the official follow up to the quick 610.82 beta hotfix that Nvidia deployed to stop emergency system failures. The update provides optimizations for 3 primary releases including the Halo Campaign Evolved remake, Mistfall Hunter, and the multiplayer test for Gears of War E Day.
Gamers running new hardware should see immediate improvements. The software corrects a recurring crash that plagued RTX 50 series graphics cards during the Halo remake. Cooperative play in Path of Exile 2 is also smoother now that engineers have eliminated a bug causing long pauses during extended DirectX 12 gaming sessions. Other fixes stabilize Silent Hill F and resolve exit crashes in Strange Brigade and Zombie Army 4 Dead War when using the Nvidia App in game overlay.
Desktop users get several general fixes. Smooth Motion with G SYNC screens has been adjusted to ensure proper frame pacing in older DirectX 11 software.
