System76 Adder Pro Linux Laptop Features Intel Panther Lake Architecture and NVIDIA RTX 50 Series

Linux hardware specialist System76 has introduced a premium laptop for developers and creators who need serious local computing power. The new Adder Pro is officially here. According to the official launch details from System76, this workstation represents a major upgrade, moving over to the latest Intel Panther Lake architecture. The base configuration starts at a steep $2499, but the hardware package is tailored specifically to justify that price point for power users.

The display is an immediate standout feature. The laptop uses a 15.3 inch OLED panel running at a fast 160 Hz refresh rate. Colors look deep and accurate thanks to 10 bit color depth and 500 nits of peak brightness. Coding and video editing should feel exceptionally sharp on the 2560x1600 resolution screen, which also boasts complete coverage of the sRGB color spectrum.

The machine runs on a 16 core Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor. System76 lets you pair this silicon with either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 or an RTX 5070 graphics card. Both of these graphics options carry 8GB of next generation GDDR7 memory. If you need maximum performance, you can configure the laptop with up to 96GB of fast DDR5 RAM. Storage is equally massive, with space for up to 4TB of PCIe Gen4 x4 solid state storage.

A 60 Wh battery powers the laptop. That is a relatively small capacity for a machine with this much raw performance, so you will likely want to stay close to a wall outlet during intense workloads. For video calls, the bezel houses a 5 MP webcam equipped with a physical privacy shutter. The chassis also features backlit keys, stereo speakers, and a standard Kensington lock slot for physical security.

Connectivity is another area where this machine does not compromise. You get 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C ports that support DisplayPort output, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port with power delivery, and 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports. The laptop also includes an HDMI port, a gigabit Ethernet port, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. This wide selection means you will not have to carry extra dongles to connect your accessories.

Software is where System76 truly differentiates itself from mainstream brands. The Adder Pro ships with Pop OS 24.04 LTS preinstalled, featuring the new COSMIC desktop environment written in Rust. If you prefer a more traditional Linux setup, the company also offers Ubuntu 26.04 LTS or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS straight from the factory. It is a highly customizable package aimed directly at the open source community.
