Xiaomi is officially stopping software support for 10 more devices. It is a hard cutoff. According to the updated End of Life list, the manufacturer has permanently retired several older smartphones and tablets across its main catalog and affordable sub brands. If your device is on this list, you will no longer receive security patches or system upgrades.
The main brand cuts include some aging flagship models. Owners of the Xiaomi 12, the 12 Pro, or the 12S Ultra are out of luck. The 12S Ultra cutoff impacts users in Russia, China, and Indonesia. Tablets are also losing support. Both the Xiaomi Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro are now officially retired.
Affordable sub brands are facing the same fate. Poco owners will no longer get security updates for the X5 5G and the X5 Pro 5G. The popular Redmi line is also losing 3 devices. The K60E, the Note 12T Pro, and the older Redmi 10 5G have all reached the end of their operational lifespan.
Most of these devices have been active for about 3 or 4 years. The oldest models in this group debuted back in 2021, while the tablets and Poco phones arrived in 2023. While Xiaomi recently decided to offer 6 years of software support for newer flagship releases, these older models are not getting the same treatment. If you still run 1 of these machines daily, it is probably time to look for an upgrade.
