IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have confirmed that 007 First Light reached 4 million copies sold during its first 3 months on shelves. The stealth action title is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for later in 2026.
The 4 million milestone puts the game among the fastest selling releases of 2026. Players have responded well to this fresh origin story for James Bond, proving there is still massive demand for single player spy adventures. These strong numbers give IO Interactive a solid commercial foundation as the studio branches out from its Hitman series. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 launch will expand that audience even further before the year wraps up.
The development team has mapped out a full Year 1 roadmap to keep players coming back. Post launch content will focus heavily on Tactical Simulation mode, which drops fresh combat and stealth challenges into existing game locations. Players will return to Kensington Workshop, the snowy slopes of Slovakia, the black markets of Mauritania, and a luxury resort in Vietnam called The Pearl.
New story beats will also arrive alongside these challenges. Missions will explore corporate espionage tied to Webb Industries and a mysterious weapons technology. In another mission following the events in Mauritania, an unexpected deal between MI6 and Pirate King Bawma forces Bond into a sensitive field assignment.
Future updates will continue to add new spy gadgets, weapons, leaderboard events, and character cosmetics. The studio is also actively working on a New Game Plus mode. This addition aims to give the story campaign extra replay value for players who want to restart the narrative with their unlocked gear.
