Cubot has announced the Cubot A50, a budget smartphone featuring a 48 megapixel triple camera array and a crisp 1080p display. The device runs on a Unisoc T620 processor, offering up to 6GB of RAM and expandable storage up to 1TB. However, the company has not yet confirmed retail pricing or regional launch dates.
The front of the phone features a 6.58 inch S IPS panel with a resolution of 1080x2408 pixels. With a pixel density of 401 ppi, the screen provides sharp image reproduction for a device in this price bracket. The panel operates at a standard 60 Hz refresh rate and uses a responsive capacitive touch layer for daily navigation.
Under the hood, Cubot equipped the phone with an octa core Unisoc T620 chip. Buyers can choose between 4GB and 6GB of RAM, while internal storage is fixed at 128GB. The hybrid card tray allows users to swap the second SIM card for a microSD card of up to 1TB, which gives budget buyers plenty of room for media files.
Photography relies on a rear camera cluster housing 3 sensors. The setup is led by a 48 megapixel primary lens, flanked by a 2 megapixel macro sensor and a tiny 0.08 megapixel auxiliary unit. Up front, a 16 megapixel camera handles video calls and selfies.
Power comes from a 5000 mAh battery designed to last through full days of standard mobile use. Cubot has promised that details on pricing and store availability will follow shortly.
