Gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off today with a packed broadcast hosted by Geoff Keighley. The 2 hour presentation promises fresh looks at anticipated titles including Gears of War E Day, Silent Hill Townfall, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Viewers can tune into the live showcase across official Twitch and YouTube channels starting with a 30 minute pre show.
Several major publishers have reserved stage time during the opening showcase. Big surprises are likely. The broadcast includes the premiere of The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past expansion alongside Game of Thrones War for Westeros. Players will also get fresh gameplay from Metro 2039, Path of Exile 2, and Valor Mortis from the makers of Ghostrunner. Paradox Interactive plans to pull back the curtain on a brand new grand strategy project as well.
First party Nintendo announcements will likely skip the main stream. Third party publishers are stepping in instead. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is already locked in to appear for the Switch 2 platform. Beyond the digital broadcast, Nintendo maintains a massive footprint on the physical show floor. Attendees can get hands on time with playable demos for Modern Warfare 4, 007 First Light, Metaphor ReFantazio, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
