HP has launched the OmniBook 3 laptop in overseas markets. Powered by an ARM architecture Qualcomm Snapdragon X chip, the 14 inch machine features an OLED display, 8GB of memory, and 256GB of storage. It is currently available at Best Buy for $499.99.
Under the hood, the OmniBook 3 14 hz0488nr runs on the Snapdragon X X1 26 100 processor. The silicon packs 8 Oryon CPU cores that boost up to 2.98GHz, backed by 30MB of cache. It also includes an NPU capable of 45 TOPS for local artificial intelligence tasks. The internal hardware includes 8GB of memory and a 256GB solid state drive in its baseline configuration. This setup puts the budget machine in direct competition with entry level ARM laptops like the Apple MacBook Neo.
The laptop features a 14 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1920x1200 and full 100% DCI P3 color coverage. Visuals look sharp and vibrant, though peak brightness tops out at 300 nits. Power comes from a 60Wh battery. HP claims the machine can last up to 41 hours and 45 minutes on a single charge. That is an enormous figure for a laptop priced under $500.
Portability remains a strong selling point. The laptop measures 31.45 by 22.61 by 1.47 centimeters and weighs 1.42 kilograms. Despite the slim frame, HP included plenty of physical connections. You get 2 USB A ports, 2 full function 10Gbps USB C ports, 1 HDMI 2.1 output, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless connections run on Wi Fi 6E, and video calls use a 1080p camera. The OmniBook 3 is currently in stock through Best Buy retail channels.
