Insta360 has announced the Luna Pro, a new handheld gimbal camera designed specifically for vertical video creators. The device packs a 1 inch sensor behind a Leica Summicron lens and features a detachable remote screen with a built in wireless microphone. But the company has yet to reveal the official retail price ahead of its launch this week.
The Luna Pro is built to target content creators who prioritize portrait shooting formats. It records 4K video at 30FPS natively in vertical orientation, using 3 axis physical stabilization and AI tracking to keep the subject centered in the frame. The camera system features a large 1 inch sensor and Leica Summicron glass capable of capturing 14 stops of exposure range. Users also get 2x lossless zoom at 4K resolution alongside 4x digital zoom designed to retain fine image details and reduce visual noise.
A central hardware feature borrowed from the Luna Ultra is the modular remote monitor. This detachable display maintains a clear wireless video feed at distances up to 20 meters while giving you full control over camera settings. Insta360 also installed a wireless microphone directly into the remote unit, providing clean audio recording without requiring separate receiver gear when shooting from a distance.
Pre orders for the Luna Pro are already open across physical retail partner locations and online storefronts including JD.com. Official pricing and final shipping schedules will be confirmed during the formal product launch event later this week.
