Keychron has released the K1 Ultra 8K, a low profile wireless mechanical keyboard featuring an original design with wooden accents. The build quality focuses on structural acoustic dampening. Keychron packed 4 sound dampening layers inside the slim chassis to keep typing quiet. On top of that, the double shot PBT keycaps resist wear and shine over long typing sessions. Buyers can customize their typing feel by choosing between 3 switch types. These include Milk POM Red linear switches, Brown tactile switches, and Banana switches that offer a tactile bump right at the start of the keypress without an audible click.

Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz wireless connection. The keyboard runs on the open source ZMK firmware, which allows for advanced customization without proprietary software overhead. Powering the hardware is a 2600 mAh battery. Keychron claims this battery lasts up to 490 hours of typing at the maximum 8000 Hz polling rate, provided the backlighting remains turned off.

You can customize macros and RGB backlighting using the Keychron Launcher web application. A physical rotary dial on the side of the case lets you quickly adjust volume levels. The blend of wood styling, open source software, and high polling speeds makes this a unique entry in the low profile keyboard market.
