Volvo EX60 Electric Crossover Outperforms Initial Range Projections

A new electric crossover has arrived in Europe. Built on a fresh architecture, the Volvo EX60 features certified battery ranges that outperform the company's initial projections. The luxury electric vehicle is now shipping in Sweden with a starting price of 58,400 dollars.

Volvo considers this release to be a major milestone for its electric vehicle portfolio. According to official performance metrics released during the Swedish launch, the premium EX60 P10 AWD variant achieved a certified range of 531 kilometers on 1 charge. This beats the original company estimate of 518 kilometers. Buyers looking for a lower entry price can choose the rear wheel drive EX60 P6, which delivers a range of 494 kilometers.

Both models are constructed on the new SPA3 platform, which uses an 800 volt system. The high end P10 AWD supports charging speeds up to 370 kilowatts. This allows drivers to add 266 kilometers of range in 10 minutes. The P6 variant supports speeds up to 320 kilowatts, providing 249 kilometers of range after a 16 minute charge. Both configurations come with native NACS port integration, granting access to more than 29,000 Tesla Superchargers without the need for physical adapters.

Pricing for the base EX60 P6 Plus starts at 58,400 dollars, while the all wheel drive P10 AWD model starts at 60,750 dollars. The cabin is equipped with a 15 inch OLED screen running Google software. Drivers also receive the Pilot Assist semi autonomous driving system, a Bose sound system with 21 speakers, and the Safe Space security suite. Deliveries are expected to expand to other global markets over the coming months.
