Mangmi has released the AIR Y series, a lineup of vertical Android gaming handhelds tailored for retro emulation. The lineup includes a base model running a Snapdragon 662 alongside a more capable Pro variant packing a Snapdragon 865 processor and dual Hall sticks. Pricing starts at 599 yuan for the standard edition, climbing to 1199 yuan about 178.16$ for the top tier Pro configuration.
Both models sport a 4.2 inch IPS touchscreen with a 1280x960 resolution, giving it a native 4 by 3 aspect ratio ideal for classic gaming. The panel pushes up to 500 nits of peak brightness and covers 110% of the sRGB color gamut. The chassis weighs between 279 and 286 grams depending on the internal configuration. It houses a built in active cooling fan and a 5000mAh battery to keep thermals and runtime steady during extended play sessions. Both editions run Android 14 right out of the box.
The internal processor split defines what each device can emulate. The standard AIR Y relies on an 11nm Snapdragon 662 paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. This configuration handles classic retro systems easily. Its physical layout includes a D pad, ABXY buttons, a single analog stick, and a side mounted scroll wheel.
For heavier workloads, the AIR Y Pro steps up to a 7nm Snapdragon 865 chipset. this chip allows the Pro edition to handle PlayStation 2 emulation smoothly. The Pro variant also upgrades the layout to symmetrical dual RGB Hall effect joysticks. Buyers can choose between 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage or 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.
The Pro model gains several hardware upgrades including stereo dual speakers, Wi Fi 6, and 18W fast charging.
