Meizu has restocked its budget friendly Note 16 smartphone on JD.com. The device offers a massive 6600mAh battery, a smooth 120Hz LCD panel, and the latest Flyme AIOS 2 software. Local subsidies drop the starting price to a mere 679.15 RMB ($94 USD).
The device runs on a custom version of the Unisoc T8200 processor. Meizu calls this the Flyme Special Edition, claiming it delivers up to 5 years of smooth performance. On the software side, the phone runs Flyme AIOS 2. This operating system includes the OneMind optimization engine, custom lock screen themes, and a highly conversational Aicy assistant.
The physical design centers on durability and a comfortable grip. It features a quad curved 3D glass back with a subtle micro arc curvature. The front display is a 6.78 inch LCD screen with a punch hole for the 8MP selfie camera. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1050 nits of peak brightness. For protection, the phone uses a sturdy architecture that carries an IP65 water resistance rating and survived a 1.5 meter drop test.
A vertical camera setup occupies the rear of the device, holding a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Along the side, you get a custom AI button that you can configure for specific shortcuts, right next to the physical fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi, and Bluetooth. Stepping up to the 8GB memory and 256GB storage variant costs 849.15 RMB ($117 USD), down from the original 999 RMB ($138 USD) retail price. The top tier model with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage sells for 1019.15 RMB ($141 USD), saving buyers 180 RMB ($25 USD) off its standard 1199 RMB ($166 USD) list price.
