Polaroid has teamed up with The Pokémon Company to launch a themed collection of instant cameras and accessories celebrating the franchise 30th anniversary. The lineup features customized versions of the Polaroid Go and Now hardware alongside collectible film packs. Pre orders begin later this month, with prices starting at $99.
The collection focuses on 3 instant cameras redesigned with iconic franchise visuals. The compact Polaroid Go Gen 3 arrives in 2 distinct options: a bright yellow Pikachu edition and a pink and blue Sylveon finish, both priced at $99. For those wanting standard full sized prints, the larger Polaroid Now Gen 3 retails for $139 and features a classic red and white Pokéball shell. All 3 models include custom shutter buttons styled after the iconic monster sphere.
The physical hardware remains unchanged inside, but the exterior detailing received plenty of attention. The cameras ship with custom wrist straps, including a Pikachu version shaped like a lightning bolt. These small design touches turn regular instant cameras into genuine collector pieces for fans.
Polaroid also updated the consumables to match the theme. Double packs of Polaroid Go film with character printed borders cost $24.99, while standard iType film with Pokémon silhouettes sells for $22.99. Even the dark slide protective sheets that eject upon loading a fresh pack carry unique monster artwork, turning disposable packaging into collector items.
Buyers looking to protect their gear can pick up dedicated accessories for the Go series. The catalog includes a custom camera case for $24.99, a photo album for $24.99, and a shoulder strap for $14.99. Collecting all 9 items in the collaboration runs roughly $478. Global retail shipments are set to begin in October.
