AYANEO Launches KONKR Pocket BLOCK Vertical Android Handheld

AYANEO has launched the KONKR Pocket BLOCK, a compact vertical Android handheld built for retro emulation. The pocket device combines a MediaTek Helio G85 processor with a 3.33 inch 4:3 display tailored for vintage game systems. Pricing starts at $99.00 for the base configuration.

The device is built for everyday portability, measuring 113.2mm by 77.4mm by 19.8mm and weighing roughly 165 grams. Up front, you get a 3.33 inch LCD panel running at a resolution of 960 by 720. That works out to a sharp pixel density of 360 PPI. Because the screen uses an authentic 4:3 aspect ratio, classic retro titles run in native pixel to pixel scaling without stretched graphics or uneven black bars on the sides.

Under the hood, the console runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chip. Buyers get 2 hardware choices depending on how much local space they need. The entry model packs 2GB of RAM alongside 32GB of storage for 499 yuan. A step up version delivers 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage for 599 yuan. Anyone with a massive game collection can also add extra capacity through the onboard microSD card slot.

The control scheme stays true to classic arcade layouts while keeping full modern functionality. The front face features a standard directional pad, ABXY action buttons, and standard START and SELECT keys. Around the top edges, you get full L1, R1, L2, and R2 shoulder buttons for titles that need extra inputs. AYANEO also included an AYA button alongside customizable shortcut keys for fast menu navigation.

Physical ports and wireless radios cover all daily needs. The handheld features a USB 2.0 Type C port that handles both standard data transfers and PD fast charging. Audio lovers get a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack for wired listening. Wireless duties are handled by onboard Wi Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

The handheld runs AYANEO proprietary Android software layer out of the box. This custom launcher handles title importing, multi platform organization, cloud scraping for cover art, and desktop personalization. It lets users organize their emulation library directly on the screen without dealing with messy file trees.
