Real world photos of the cancelled realme Neo8 Sanxingdui edition have surfaced online. The prototype pairs a translucent green rear shell with gold circuit traces inspired by ancient bronze relics. But following production setbacks and the broader market exit of the brand, the collector phone will never see a store shelf.
The images were shared on social media by former realme UI product manager Kang Da. The leaked hardware shows off a distinctive aesthetic that draws directly from the Shu cultural artifacts of the Sanxingdui archaeological site. A green bronze tint dominates the casing, accented by a translucent finish that exposes gold circuitry running beneath the surface. The packaging was planned as an elaborate collector box with matching bronze texture patterns and gold calligraphy reading Adventure in Ancient Shu.
Realme intended this special edition to accompany the standard Neo8 lineup earlier this year. The company had officially announced the partnership with the Sanxingdui project before abruptly postponing the launch just hours later. Strict craftsmanship standards and poor factory yields left the team unable to build enough inventory for a commercial rollout.
With realme subsequently winding down operations and exiting the market, the project was permanently abandoned. The hardware will not be revived or released in any capacity. These leaked prototype photos serve as the only public look at an ambitious design collaboration that ultimately failed to survive factory production.
