FiiO has introduced the FX25, a flagship tribrid in ear monitor featuring 7 drivers packed into each earpiece. The earphones combine a 10mm lithium magnesium dynamic driver with 2 Knowles balanced armatures and 4 Sonion electrostatic units inside a lightweight carbon fiber shell. Currently listed on Tmall, the new audio monitors carry an introductory launch price of 4999 Yuan, which converts to roughly $695 USD.
The internal acoustic design divides sound across a wide frequency range spanning 10Hz to 40kHz. FiiO uses its patented S.Turbo acoustic structure to boost low bass frequencies while filtering out unwanted high pitch distortion. A second order RLC band stop circuit sits inside to eliminate harsh resonance peaks and keep upper frequencies smooth. The 7 individual drivers divide frequencies cleanly to handle sub bass, midrange vocals, and ultra high details without muddiness.
Each earpiece weighs approximately 7g and comes in a twilight brown finish. The shell uses rigid carbon fiber material to maintain durability without adding unnecessary weight to the ear canal. For the cable connection, FiiO implemented a standard 0.78 2pin detachable design, giving listeners the freedom to swap out cables whenever they want.
The retail package includes a 1.2 meter liquid nitrogen treated 6N monocrystalline silver plated copper cable. It features an interchangeable twist lock plug system that lets listeners swap between different source jacks quickly. On the technical side, the FX25 has an impedance rating of 20 ohms and a sensitivity level of 106dB per mW at 1kHz. Multiple sets of silicone ear tips come in the box to help listeners achieve a proper acoustic seal.
