A new budget gaming laptop has landed in China. The Firebat T5A features an Intel Core i5 13420H processor, a 95W Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics chip, and a sharp 2.5K 165Hz screen. It is currently available with prices starting at 5499 yuan, which converts to roughly $765 USD.
Under the hood, the machine runs on the Intel Core i5 13420H built on Raptor Lake silicon. The chip packs 8 cores and 12 threads divided into 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores capable of hitting clock speeds up to 4.6GHz. Graphics processing relies on a 95W Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 mobile GPU carrying 4GB of GDDR6 memory and 2048 CUDA cores. It supports ray tracing and DLSS 2, achieving 5380 points in the 3DMark Time Spy graphics benchmark.
The screen is a major selling point for this price tier. You get a 15.6 inch IPS display running at 2560x1440 resolution with a fast 165Hz refresh rate. Out of the box, the system ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a fast PCIe solid state drive. Upgrade options are unusually generous for a budget build. Two SO DIMM slots let you expand system memory up to 64GB, while dual M.2 2280 slots allow up to 8TB of storage.
Thermal management relies on a cooling layout with 3 ring heatpipes, 2 fans, and 4 exhaust openings. This setup allows up to 130W of total performance output while keeping peak noise below 49 decibels. The full size keyboard retains an independent numeric pad, full height directional keys, and customizable RGB backlighting.
Port selection covers all the basics without needing extra dongles. The chassis includes a Type C port, HDMI 2.1, gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB 2.0 port, and a multi in 1 SD card reader. Audio needs are met with separate 3.5mm jacks for headphones and microphones. Wireless networking is handled by Wi Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2. Inside sits a 62Wh battery paired with a 180W charger, bringing total system weight to 2.06 kilograms.
Buyers can pick up the 512GB model for 5499 yuan (roughly $765 USD). The larger 1TB edition retails for 5999 yuan (around $835 USD). Both versions come with a trial edition of Windows 11 preinstalled.
