Huawei has launched the Watch D3, refreshing its lineup of smartwatches with medically certified blood pressure tracking. The new model fits a 1.92 inch AMOLED screen into a slimmer 11.4 millimeter case while matching the 6 day battery life of its predecessor. Orders are open now across European markets starting at €449.
The biggest physical upgrade sits right on the wrist. Huawei managed to expand the screen size while shrinking the overall chassis footprint. The 1.92 inch LTPO AMOLED panel replaces the older 1.82 inch display found on the previous model. Even with this larger screen, the casing drops down to 46.5 by 38.8 by 11.4 millimeters, making it noticeably thinner than before. Weight stays flat at 40 grams, so you will not feel extra bulk during daily wear.
Because the display grew while retaining the same 409 by 480 resolution, pixel density drops slightly to 328 PPI. Text and health charts still appear sharp enough for quick glance checks. The screen also continues to use power efficient LTPO tech to help extend usage between charges.
Health monitoring remains the main selling point for the lineup. The Watch D3 continues to offer 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure tracking with official medical certification. This puts it in a very different category than lifestyle wearables from Apple, Garmin, or Samsung. An integrated 540 mAh battery keeps the sensors running for up to 6 days under typical usage.
Daily convenience gets a boost through updated wireless hardware. The wearable includes Bluetooth 6.0 for faster data transfers with your smartphone. You also get NFC functionality with support for Curve Pay tap to pay transactions at checkout counters. Compatibility spans devices running Android 8 or iOS 13 and newer, allowing iPhone and Android users to sync their medical data without platform lock in.
