The new flagship smartphone will feature the world's first 2K 165Hz Samsung Everest display built with next generation M16 luminescent materials. Official testing figures reveal that local peak brightness on the panel can reach up to 10000 nits.
During their joint screen technology communication conference, the 2 companies officially announced their Future Display Exploration Plan. This initiative represents the highest level of technical collaboration between Samsung Display and iQOO to date. The primary goal of the partnership is to set new standards for mobile visual quality, with the initial phase of engineering results heading straight to the iQOO 16 production line.
The panel marks the Android debut of Samsung's M16 light emitting substrate. This custom hardware arrangement improves energy efficiency while maintaining sharp color accuracy and high frame rate stability during gaming sessions. It combines a sharp 2K resolution with an ultra smooth 165Hz refresh rate, creating a dedicated visual experience for competitive mobile gaming.
The brightness ratings for the Everest screen push far beyond current smartphone standards. In manual adjustment mode, the display can reach 1100 nits for comfortable everyday viewing. When exposed to harsh direct sunlight, the global peak brightness climbs to 2800 nits across the entire panel surface. For specialized HDR content and localized highlights, the screen can push up to a staggering 10000 nits.
Both brands confirmed that the iQOO 16 will be the exclusive launch vehicle for this specific display panel. More technical details regarding resolution scaling and device battery management will be shared closer to the official commercial launch of the phone.
