iQOO has introduced the iQOO Pad Ultra, a compact gaming tablet powered by Qualcomm flagship silicon and an internal active cooling fan. The 8.8 inch machine features a 165Hz OLED display and includes a built in PC emulator to run desktop games locally. The tablet goes on sale in China starting at an introductory price of 5999 yuan, which converts to roughly 845 USD.
The device measures just 5.74 millimeters at its thinnest point. Buyers can choose between Star Armor Silver and Ender Black finishes. The rear camera housing features RGB lighting capable of cycling through 6 glowing profiles. Up front, the 8.8 inch OLED panel outputs a local peak brightness of 4500 nits with a response time below 1 millisecond. Extremely slim borders allow for a 93.3% screen to body ratio.
Core performance relies on the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor built on a 2 nanometer process that clocks up to 5.0GHz. Thermal throttling is prevented by a custom 5 layer active air cooling system. This setup centers on an internal fan measuring 30 by 30 by 3.5 millimeters that pushes 0.94 CFM of air. Intake vents sit on the front and sides of the frame with 3 automatic speed settings. A large 9020mAh battery supplies power for long gaming sessions.
Tactile response comes from dual X axis linear vibration motors programmed with custom haptics for 15 major mobile games. Cloud gaming fans get dedicated optimizations for Tencent STAR services designed to pair with clip on controllers. Players can also skip mobile titles entirely. The onboard PC emulator software allows users to sign directly into Steam and run selected PC games directly on the device. The system runs OriginOS 7 HD with memory compression algorithms that reclaim up to 30% of drive space.
The standard model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage normally retails for 6499 yuan, or about 915 USD, with a launch discount bringing it to 5999 yuan, or 845 USD. Moving to 16GB of RAM with 256GB of storage raises the price to 7199 yuan, which equals about 1015 USD. The 16GB and 512GB tier costs 7999 yuan, or roughly 1125 USD. The maximum configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage lands at 8999 yuan, which sits right around 1265 USD. Retail shipments begin in the coming weeks.
