MSI has launched a more affordable version of its gaming handheld on Chinese ecommerce platforms. The new Claw 8 EX AI+ features an Intel Arc G3 processor, an 8 inch 120Hz IPS display, and 32GB of memory. It is now listed for 10499 yuan, which converts to roughly 1475 USD.
This specific configuration carries the CG3M model designation and sits directly below the Arc G3 Extreme edition. MSI cut the price by 1000 yuan, or about 140 USD, compared to that top tier unit. Inside, the Intel Arc G3 silicon combines 2 performance cores, 8 efficient cores, and 4 low power cores. Graphics duties are handled by an Arc B370 GPU sporting 10 Xe cores running at a maximum dynamic frequency of 2.2GHz. The system pairs this hardware with 32GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state drive.
The screen remains identical to the pricier model. You get an 8 inch WUXGA touch panel running at 120Hz with 500 nits of peak brightness. It covers 100% of the sRGB color spectrum and supports variable refresh rates to eliminate screen tearing during games. To keep temperatures manageable, MSI installed an internal cooling setup using 2 fans and 2 heat pipes. The controller grips include linear vibration motors, while the thumbsticks and analog triggers use Hall effect sensors to prevent drift over time.
Battery life is backed by an 80 Whr pack. Audio is delivered through dual speakers carrying official Hi Res Audio certification. Wireless connectivity covers both Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 standards. For physical expansion, MSI included 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports alongside a high speed microSD Express card slot. That port selection allows gamers to plug in external monitors or fast storage drives without needing a separate dock.
