A tester pushed the RedMagic 11 Pro to its limits by attaching an external sub zero liquid cooler to tame the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The setup allowed the phone to sustain higher performance during heavy stress tests. But the extreme temperature drop created dangerous internal condensation that could ruin the device.
Mobile processors run hot under load, forcing phone makers to install larger vapor chambers and tiny spinning fans. The tech channel TrueEasyTech decided to take cooling to an extreme level by attaching a KryoZon S9 cooling rig to the back of the RedMagic 11 Pro. This accessory combines a 30 watt Peltier semiconductor plate with an active liquid cooling loop. Within seconds of turning it on, the contact surface plunges to minus 9 degrees Celsius, forming actual frost on the mounting frame.
The goal was simple. Find out if extreme chilling could stop the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from thermal throttling during long gaming sessions. The tester fired up the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test to push both the processor and graphics unit to the brink. On stock cooling with only the built in internal fan and vapor chamber, the phone posted an 80% stability score. With the frozen liquid loop attached, stability jumped to 89%. The frame rates stayed consistent across the entire run.
Pushing electronics below freezing brings real physical dangers. During the benchmark run, moisture gathered along the outside plate and eventually condensed inside the phone body. Rapid temperature shifts create water droplets directly around sensitive circuit boards. Even with modern ingress protection, the tester warned that this method easily risks killing a flagship phone just to chase higher benchmark numbers.
