SanDisk has revealed a new lineup of durable solid state drives built specifically for network attached storage systems. The series includes both the NAS 600 SATA and the high speed NAS 800 NVMe, pushing storage capacities up to 7.68TB with write endurance rated at 14,000 TBW. Both product lines are launching in India first before rolling out to other global regions.
The SanDisk NAS 600 SATA is aimed at standard network storage enclosures that need cache acceleration or reliable primary storage. It uses a standard 2.5 inch form factor measuring 7 millimeters thick and runs on a SATA 6Gbps connection. Sequential read speeds reach 560MB/s while write speeds top out at 520MB/s. Random read performance reaches 87,000 IOPS with random write speeds hitting 77,000 IOPS.
Buyers can choose between 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB sizes. The largest 4TB model offers an endurance rating of 2500 TBW and a mean time between failures of 2.25 million hours. Every capacity option includes a 5 year warranty. Pricing for the SATA model starts at $224 for 500GB, with the 1TB priced at $349, the 2TB at $624, and the 4TB at $1249.
Builders running all flash servers have a dedicated high speed option in the SanDisk NAS 800 NVMe. This M.2 2280 drive operates over a PCIe 5.0 interface and uses TLC 3D NAND memory to handle heavy workloads. Capacities range from 960GB, 1.92TB, 3.84TB, up to 7.68TB.
Speed is a massive step up on this model. The 1.92TB edition delivers sequential read speeds up to 14,900MB/s and sequential writes up to 13,200MB/s. Longevity is equally high, with the top 7.68TB version rated for 14,000 TBW alongside a 5 year warranty. Entry pricing starts at $387 for 960GB, while the 1.92TB costs $699, the 3.84TB costs $1374, and the 7.68TB version tops out at $2749.
