Xiaomi has officially confirmed key camera specifications for its upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max flagships. Both smartphones feature a dual 200MP Leica imaging system, huge batteries up to 8500mAh, and the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. Full details will drop during the official unveiling event tomorrow.
The camera setup is the main draw here. Xiaomi is placing 2 separate 200MP sensors tuned by Leica on both devices. The primary shooter uses a 1/1.28 inch sensor, while the periscope telephoto unit packs a 1/1.56 inch sensor to capture way more light than typical high resolution hardware. The 75mm periscope lens brings an f/2.4 aperture with 3.2x optical zoom and 12.8x hybrid zoom. Thanks to dual floating lenses inside the module, the telephoto can pull focus on macro shots as close as 12cm. Xiaomi claims these hardware changes boost light sensitivity by 280% on the 18 Pro and 83% on the 18 Pro Max compared to older generations.
Beyond the optics, Xiaomi packed massive battery upgrades into both chassis. The 18 Pro houses a 7000mAh pack, while the larger 18 Pro Max jumps to a giant 8500mAh capacity. Both phones support 100W fast charging to get you back up quickly. Up front, the phones use a Super Pixel Display 2.0 surrounded by ultra slim borders measuring just 0.99mm. Raw performance comes from Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 silicon, built to process heavy image data on device without slowing down.
