Amazfit T Rex Dual Solar Smartwatch Features Dual Sided Solar Charging

Amazfit has launched the T Rex Dual Solar, a rugged smartwatch equipped with solar harvesting panels on both the front and rear of the casing. The dual panel layout extends the 660 mAh battery runtime up to 51 days when exposed to regular sunlight. The wearable is currently available in the US market priced at $650.

The standard 660 mAh internal battery delivers up to 21 days of typical usage without any solar assistance. Adding daylight exposure changes those figures significantly. Wearing the watch outdoors with the front face exposed to 3 hours of direct sunlight each day increases battery life to 34 days. Placing the larger rear solar panel under direct sunlight for 3 hours daily pushes runtime to 51 days of typical use.

The front houses a 1.32 inch AMOLED display that reaches 3000 nits of peak brightness for outdoor visibility. Sapphire Glass covers the screen to resist scratches during outdoor activities. The casing carries a 10 ATM water resistance rating, making it suitable for high pressure water sports. For health and exercise tracking, the software supports more than 180 workout modes alongside Bluetooth calling capabilities and an integrated LED flashlight for low light navigation.

Amazfit sells the T Rex Dual Solar in a single Basalt Black finish paired with a flexible silicone strap. The smartwatch carries a retail price of $650 in the United States.
