ASUS Launches ROG ZOOM Category 8 Gaming Cable with 40Gbps Bandwidth

ASUS has launched the ROG ZOOM Category 8 gaming ethernet cable alongside its 6999 yuan ($965 USD) flagship gaming router. The cable delivers transmission bandwidth up to 40Gbps and a 2000MHz carrier frequency to eliminate connection bottlenecks. Pricing starts at 299 yuan ($41 USD) for the 1.5 meter version and 399 yuan ($55 USD) for the 3 meter model in China.

The ROG ZOOM uses Category 8 network standards. It supports 40Gbps data throughput and a 2000MHz carrier frequency. This quadruples the 10Gbps bandwidth and 600MHz frequency found on standard Category 7 cables. ASUS markets the accessory specifically for low latency competitive gaming setups where high signal integrity is necessary.

Internal wiring relies on 26AWG oxygen free pure copper to reduce signal loss over distance. The core features 8 twisted pair strands to stop signal stuttering. For physical protection, an E/STP double shielding design blocks cable crosstalk. The exterior uses a high density braided sleeve that resists abrasion and pulling forces. The RJ45 connectors feature gold plated copper shielding rather than conventional iron shells to prevent corrosion and physical wear during repeated connections.

ASUS sells the ROG ZOOM in 2 length configurations. The 1.5 meter cable costs 299 yuan (approximately $41 USD). The 3 meter cable retails for 399 yuan (approximately $55 USD). Both lengths are currently available on the Chinese market with global release details unannounced.
