Japanese electronics retailer Sofmap published sales data showing budget graphics cards dominating current desktop hardware charts. The Gigabyte RTX 3050 secured 1st place, while legacy entry level components outsold newer RTX 50 series models. The sales figures point to distinct purchasing preferences across the Japanese market, where compact form factors and low power draw regularly take priority over peak performance.
The top seller at Sofmap was the Gigabyte RTX 3050 WINDFORCE OC V2 6G. This card measures 191 millimeters long and uses a dual fan cooler that fits inside compact desktop enclosures. It runs on a PCIe 4.0 connection and requires a small 300W power supply. The 2nd position went to the MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GD4 LP OC, a low profile card with 2GB of DDR4 memory. This legacy component continues to sell steadily due to ongoing demand for small office PCs and home media systems.
AMD secured 3rd position with the Gigabyte RX 9070 XT GAMING OC, which carries 16GB of GDDR6 memory and requires an 850W power supply to support its WINDFORCE cooling setup. Newer Nvidia graphics cards only appeared further down the rankings. The Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC 16G took 4th place, followed by the Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5060 Ti OC in 5th place. These sales positions show that Japanese retail buyers frequently prefer inexpensive, small components instead of standard gaming flagships.
