Huawei has introduced 4 new Kirin processors alongside the Mate 90 smartphone series. The lineup spans from the standard Kirin 9030 and 9035 up to the flagship Kirin 9050 and 9050 Pro. These top tier chips use LogicFolding technology to deliver big gains in graphics and artificial intelligence processing.
The Kirin 9050 and 9050 Pro stand as the most powerful mobile silicon in the history of the brand. Both chips feature 9 CPU cores and handle 16 threads through hyperthreading architecture. Silicon density increased by 28% over the previous generation, holding 238,000,000 transistors on the die. General performance sits roughly 31% higher than the entry tier model.
Raw processing gains are noticeable across heavy workloads. Multi threaded CPU tasks run 23% faster. Graphics rendering speeds jumped by 40%. The biggest leap is in artificial intelligence calculations, which saw an improvement of 140%. These metrics point directly toward demanding on device neural tasks and advanced local automation.
For standard models, Huawei reworked the baseline architecture with deeper software tuning and cloud service integration. The Kirin 9030 beats the older Kirin 9020 with a 13% CPU jump, a 54% graphics boost, and a 13% NPU gain. The hardware focuses on system balance rather than maximum clock speeds.
The Kirin 9035 shifts the balance by offering an 11% CPU bump, a 10% graphics increase, and a massive 51% leap in NPU speed. These additions give the Mate 90 family distinct hardware tiers depending on user workload requirements. Huawei confirmed during the event that development will continue on future silicon revisions to expand its mobile processing capabilities.
