JGINYUE has released the Xscale.io, a desktop expansion card built around the AMD B650 Promontory 21 chipset. The add in board equips standard systems with 4 M.2 solid state drive slots alongside 2.5GbE networking and fast USB connectivity. The initial model sells in China for 388 yuan, with high bandwidth variants planned for future release.
The expansion card distributes its 4 M.2 storage bays across both sides of the printed circuit board. The front face houses 2 high speed PCIe Gen4 x4 slots for primary solid state drives. The rear side contains 1 PCIe Gen3 x2 slot and 1 PCIe Gen3 x1 slot, catering to secondary storage drives with lower bandwidth requirements. Supplemental power is supplied through an onboard PCIe 6 Pin power connector to ensure steady voltage delivery across all 4 installed drives.
Rear port selection expands external system connectivity through a dedicated backplate. Users get 1 2.5GbE RJ45 ethernet jack, 2 USB A ports delivering 10Gbps transfer speeds, and 1 USB C port running at 10Gbps. The circuit board also provides 2 internal USB headers running at 480Mbps for front panel connections. Cooling support includes 1 fixed speed 4 Pin fan header to power dedicated cooling fans for the storage drives.
JGINYUE set the launch price for the current Xscale.io model at 388 yuan (roughly $54). The manufacturer is preparing an upgraded revision featuring 20Gbps USB C data speeds. Additional plans include a 10GbE network variant and low profile half height models to fit compact small form factor computer cases.
