Nvidia has rolled out its latest GeForce Game Ready driver, version 617.42. The update introduces day-one optimizations for several upcoming releases and addresses an instability problem in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Driver 617.42 brings performance profiles and technical support for titles featuring Nvidia RTX and DLSS technologies. The supported games include:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
- Star Wars: Galactic Racer
- Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Valor Mortis
The update resolves a specific stability issue in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Following the previous 616.56 driver release, some players experienced crashes to the desktop during extended gameplay sessions. Nvidia notes this issue (tracked under bug ID 6685219) has now been fixed. The company reported no changes or additions to its general known issues list for this release.
