OpenAI has launched GPT 6, introducing an interactive interface called Intelligent UI that replaces static text with functional components. The system generates live buttons, calculators, and diagrams directly inside chat replies while cutting web search response delays by 44%. The update rolls out to paid subscribers first before reaching free tiers.
Intelligent UI shifts the chatbot away from standard text paragraphs. When a prompt requires more than words, the model builds clickable graphics, forms, comparison tables, and mini apps directly in the conversation. An explanation of bicycle mechanics displays a selectable system diagram, while a dinner request generates a flexible ingredient scale based on guest count. Simple questions still receive standard text answers to keep things fast.
Speed improvements come from parallel generation. The system starts streaming the response while it continues to process the query. On prompts requiring web search, GPT 6 Instant begins outputting answers 44% sooner than GPT 5.6 Instant. OpenAI described the broader goal for this interface:
Instead of people adapting to software, software will adapt to people.
OpenAI divides the release between 2 distinct model tiers. Paying subscribers on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise access GPT 6 Sol. Free and Go tier accounts run on GPT 6 Luna as the feature expands to the 1.2 billion people using ChatGPT weekly. Both versions feature updated safety training designed to block multi turn jailbreak attempts and detect dangerous instructions across extended conversations.
