Razer Wolverine V4 Pro Launches with 8000 Hz Polling Rate and Capacitive Sticks

Razer has launched the Wolverine V4 Pro and the budget friendly Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition for PC and Xbox players. The flagship wireless controller introduces capacitive analog sticks alongside an ultra fast 8000 Hz polling rate on PC. Both controllers are now available in the US starting at $100 for the wired model and $200 for the wireless edition.

Razer replaced traditional potentiometer sticks with contactless capacitive sensors to eliminate mechanical wear. According to Razer, this system delivers higher precision and greater resistance to magnetic interference than common Hall Effect alternatives. Connected to a 16 bit analog to digital converter, the hardware tracks roughly 3000 distinct stick positions. On PC, both versions reach a polling rate of 8000 Hz over wired and wireless connections. When connected to Xbox Series X and S consoles, the polling rate caps at 250 Hz due to platform limits.

The Wolverine V4 Pro includes extensive physical customization options across the chassis. Players get 6 swappable stick caps, 4 removable magnetic rear paddles, and 2 extra top shoulder buttons. Button remapping is handled through Razer Synapse software and saved directly to 4 onboard memory profiles. The front faceplate attaches magnetically for toolless removal, and the internal rumble motors can be disabled entirely for competitive play.

The Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition acts as a stripped down alternative designed specifically for esports. It keeps the identical capacitive sticks and 8000 Hz PC polling rate but operates strictly over a wired connection. To lower manufacturing costs, Razer made the rear buttons and the front faceplate permanent rather than modular. The wired Tournament Edition retails for $100 in the US market, while the fully modular wireless Wolverine V4 Pro is priced at $200.
