Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra May Drop Exynos 2700 for Worldwide Qualcomm Chip

Samsung may abandon plans to use the inhouse Exynos 2700 processor in its flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra. While the silicon shows strong manufacturing yields for standard models, current supply reports indicate the top tier phone could launch exclusively with Qualcomm processors worldwide. The flagship lineup is scheduled for release next year.

Industry insider yeux1122 reported that Samsung has not assigned the Exynos 2700 to the Galaxy S27 Ultra production line. Early reports suggested Samsung planned a split strategy using Exynos silicon in select regions and Qualcomm silicon in others. Current fab data indicates the Exynos 2700 has reached mass production with a 10% output improvement over the previous Exynos 2600. Despite these yield gains, Samsung appears set on reserving Qualcomm hardware for its most expensive model.

The allocation strategy suggests the Galaxy S27 Ultra will run solely on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite gen 6 silicon across all global regions. Standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus units may still use the Exynos 2700 depending on final regional allotments. Because official launch plans remain several months away, hardware choices could shift before full commercial manufacturing begins.
